Sandy Rotary Club ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through sandyrotary.org, our membership app, and our communications, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you contact us, join a service project, ask about membership, donate, or sign up for messages, we collect what you provide: name, email address, phone number, and anything you write in a message field.
- Member information. For members, we maintain a club roster (name, contact details, attendance, committee roles, and photos from club events) in our membership app.
- Website data. Like most websites, ours records basic technical information (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) through standard server logs and analytics. Our site may use cookies to keep it working and to understand how it is used.
How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry or membership request.
- To coordinate club meetings, service projects, and events.
- To send meeting reminders, event notices, and club updates to members and to people who opted in.
- To process and acknowledge donations.
- To operate and improve our website and membership app.
Text messages (SMS)
If you provide your mobile number and opt in, we may send you text messages about club meetings, service projects, events, and membership. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to cancel and HELP for help.
We do not share your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in consent with any third party or affiliate for their marketing purposes. Phone numbers and consent obtained for text messaging are used only to send you the messages you agreed to receive.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate our systems on our behalf — for example, our website host, membership app database, email and text-messaging platform, and donation processor. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Rotary International and Rotary District 5420, for member records and reporting required of Rotary clubs.
- Authorities, when required by law.
The exclusion for text-messaging data above applies regardless of this section: mobile numbers and SMS consent are never shared for third-party marketing.
Your choices
- Texts: reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us.
- Your information: you may ask us to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us below. Members may update their own profile in the membership app.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete it. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
Our website and messaging are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Youth programs (such as RYLA) are coordinated through parents, guardians, and schools.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above will change when we do, and the current version will always be posted at sandyrotary.org/privacy-policy.
